AMO SMS TRAINING

SMS Gap Analysis (SMSGA)An initial Gap Analysis (GA) is essential to the SMS process.  A properly conducted GA is the most effective means to determine existing SMS elements and subsequently, identify those that may be required.  Transport Canada (TC) has defined the GA procedure as a requirement in the SMS application and documentation process.  QualaTech Aero Consulting Ltd. will accurately assess your specific situation.

Safety Management Systems Manual (SMSM)The SMSM is vital to the SMS.  QualaTech not only designs SMSMs that complement TC 6 Part Protocol but more specifically, will design a system to suit the individual (AMO and/or Air Operator), encompassing the specific operational requirements for SMS. 

Safety Assurance Process (Hazard ID & Risk Assessment)TC requires that a Certificate Holder include safety assurance as a component of a SMS, specifically, a process employing the CSA Risk Management system.  QualaTech can establish a pragmatic Safety Case, meeting the requirements of TC and more importantly the requirements of the client.

SMS TrainingThe purpose of a SMS training course is to provide the client with a concentrated overview of SMS.  The course focuses on SMS principles, requirements and practices and also introduces practical procedures for implementation, dealing with documentation and policy.   SMS training is a TC requirement, whether provided in-house or by an external agency.

Human Factors Awareness TrainingThe primary purpose for HFAT is to identify and understand the relationship of Human Factors [the scientific study of the interaction between people and machine] within the work environment.  Additionally, HFAT provides a correlation between HF and a SMS, focusing on human error, effect, avoidance and subsequent consequence.  The course introduces HF philosophy, enabling the participant to appreciate that Error and Loss are both highly preventable and within his/her own personal power to control; thereby helping to reduce the world’s annual ten billion dollar insurable loss rate.  HFAT is a TC requirement whether provided in-house or by an external agency.
